Kindred’s desert weekend brings individuals from San Diego together to build community, spark genuine connections, create lifelong memories, and, of course, have some seriously good times.

Waking up in a sleek Airstream surrounded by breathtaking desert landscapes, telling tales by a roaring campfire, indulging in chef-crafted meals and artisanal cocktails, sun-tanning luxury poolside, exploring hidden trails in one of California’s most beautiful national parks, soaking in hot tubs under a canopy of stars, and swapping stories with people as unique as you.
Head back to the city feeling full – with a couple of kindred spirits and a community that feels like home.

Desert activities + luxe amenities
Start the day with a mid-morning wake up delivery of coffee (just the way you like it) + a delish breakfast sandwich.
Hike, bike, and swim the afternoon away and we’ll even wander through a ghost town if you’re feeling brave.
When hunger strikes, unwind with a slightly boozy picnic lunch among the Joshua Trees and later bike ride through town past boutiques + crystal shops.
As the sun settles into a cotton candy sky, we’ll gather around a campfire and grill a beautiful dinner together over the fire with your choice of protein, plenty of veggies + sides, and perfectly charred garlic bread.
As the stars fill the sky, we’ll roast marshmallows and laugh over camp games + late night chats.
Once the moon takes its place in the sky, our astronomer will arrive with telescopes for a private evening of stargazing.
The weekend plans
All inclusive, kinda bougie, and totally laid back.
Day 1
🚗Make your way to Joshua tree, even carpool with fellow members. We kick things off at 4pm.
🌮Enjoy a welcome dinner and meet everyone IRL
🙋🏻♀️Drinks, games, and non-cheesy ice breakers to jump through the small talk. Hosted by the Kindred team.
🔥Gather around a campfire for sweet and savory s’mores.
⛺️ Sleep in your own private luxury Airstream at Autocamp.
Day 2
Morning:
☕️Wake up with a coffee and breakfast sandwich delivered to your Airstream.
🥾Hike in Joshua Tree and wander through a ghost town.
Afternoon:
🧀(Boozy) picnic lunch. NA options always available.
😎Relax poolside, read a book, keep hiking, cycle into town, or visit an outdoor art museum: the afternoon is to chill.
Evening:
🍖Prepare a BBQ dinner together on an open flame.
🌌Our star guide arrives with telescopes to gaze at the stars and planets.
Day 3
🥐Sleep in a little with a coffee and breakfast sandwich delivery or stroll over to the cafe next door.
⛺️ Check out is at 10am, but if you’re not ready to go home, there are plenty of trails to explore.

Hike amongst terrestial flora and fauna in Joshua Tree National Park, sample the latest wellness elixirs, treasure-hunt in boutiques and crystal shops, or soak in the closest (and coolest) water you can find.

Everything listed in The Weekend Plans is included, and here is a breakdown: all meals (2 breakfasts, 2 dinners, 1 lunch, lots of snacks), a private stargazing evening with telescopes and a guide, 2 nights at Auto Camp Joshua Tree in a private Airstream, bicycle rental & national park entrance fees. And of course, it is all curated and hosted by a Kindred team member who is there with you all weekend.
You will make your way to Joshua Tree and meet your Kindred host at 4pm on Friday, January 24, 2025. Most members prefer to drive themselves, but we would be happy to help you arrange a carpool with another member. We will also carpool to Joshua Tree and the ghost town from AutoCamp.
Absolutely! Each Airstream features a full or queen-size bed and a futon that converts into an additional bed. If you're sharing an Airstream, everyone in your group needs to book together, so make sure to arrange how you’ll split the cost among yourselves. Because you are sharing an Airstream, each person's spot is discounted, which you will see on the booking page.
Your balance is due in full when you book your spot. If you need to cancel, give us at least 60 days notice. If you cancel before 60 days, your booking can be held for a future Weekend Away at no cost. OR you can request a refund minus a 20 percent processing fee. Cancellations made 59 days or less before your booking will be forfeited.
